Metin Sabancı Special Education Schools

Established in 2011 under the umbrella of the Spastic Children’s Foundation of Turkey , Metin Sabancı Special Education Schools provide educational services to children with special needs at the kindergarten, primary, and lower secondary school levels.

Since its founding, the institution has served students with special needs through three distinct schools: a Kindergarten and Primary School for Children with Mild Intellectual Disabilities, and a Primary and Lower Secondary School for Children with Moderate to Severe Intellectual Disabilities. It has become a pioneering model in the field of special education in Türkiye.

The school implements a curriculum developed by the Ministry of National Education (MoNE) specifically designed for children with special needs. This program is enriched with technology-supported special education, physiotherapy practices, sensory integration activities, as well as sports, art, and music programs. In addition, life skills are supported through practical activities held in the kitchen workshop, mini market, and life skills training apartment.

As of the 2025–2026 academic year, Metin Sabancı Special Education Schools will continue their operations under the Ministry of National Education. Within the scope of the Cooperation Protocol signed between the Spastic Children’s Foundation of Turkey and the Provincial Directorate of National Education, the schools will maintain their educational vision and principles in alignment with the current approach.
